Meet a New Plant: Strongylodon Macrobotrys
Strongylodon macrobotrys, also called jade vine or emerald creeper, is a tropical climber that is native to the Philippines. The plant has clusters of dangling aquamarine claw-shaped flowers that hang down from twisted stems, giving the plant its unique appearance. These flowers grow up to a length of 90cms, attracting pollinating bats at twilight. The plant grows well in greenhouses too.

Meet a New Bird: Antilophia Bokermanni
Antilophia bokermanni or the Araripe manakin is an endangered bird that lives in a very small area of forest valleys along the Araripe Plateau in Ceará, Brazil. Today, only about 800 of them live here— that too under serious threat from deforestation. The male of the species is colourful with an array of white, red and black colours as against the female, which has dull olive-green feathers.

Meet a New Animal: Psammobates Geometricus
Psammobates geometricus or the geometric tortoise is a rare terrestrial tortoise that is endemic to the Western Cape of South Africa. It is known as the geometric tortoise because of the pattern on its high, dark brownish black shell. Geometric tortoises are quite small in size—the male weighs about 200gms and the female, about 430gms.
