'Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer' is a new series by Rick Riordan. Magnus is hilarious. He has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother's mysterious death, he's lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he’s tracked down by a man he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god…

This book is set in Boston and a million other places. It is set in the present time, but in a world where Norse, Egyptian and Greek gods exist. This set-up makes mythology interesting. It also makes history lessons interesting.

Personally, I love Rick Riordan’s writing style. His characters never behave like they know exactly what the world has in store for them; instead they are real, sarcastic and mess up an amazing number of times, just like any of us would.

'Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer' makes history and mythology interesting. Published by Penguin Books and available on Amazon.in
